Thierry LHOTTE on the AGCO job-saving plan
Thierry LHOTTE (Agriculture, 1986, Beauvais), President of AGCO France, answered questions from L'Observateur de Beauvais about the job-saving plan (PSE) affecting 103 positions at the Beauvais site. This decision comes at a time of major crisis for the agricultural sector, marked by a 26% drop in production forecast for 2024 and economic difficulties (falling prices, rising production costs, inflation).
The Alumni stressed that the PSE, drawn up after other cost-cutting measures, is designed to preserve the site's competitiveness and long-term viability. He reaffirmed the strategic role of Beauvais, notably for the Massey Ferguson brand, and pointed out that investments of 110 million euros had been made in recent years, notably to modernize the Froneri wasteland.
In response to questions from local councillors, he assured them that the Group had kept its commitments in terms of job creation, with 256 positions created in Beauvais since 2020. While acknowledging the concerns, he stressed the importance of maintaining investments to guarantee the future of the site, and to help the employees concerned find new jobs.
