Visiting France on a professional mission, Abdel Malik NJI MONGBA NJOYA (Agriculture, 2019, Rouen) from Cameroon, came to chat with the 3ᵉ year students who had just arrived from the country. He shared a heartfelt account of his journey, his difficulties and the levers that helped him succeed.

He reminded us of the importance of adapting to a new country, of understanding the expectations of the professional environment, stressing that success rests above all on organization, perseverance and self-confidence.

Abdel recounted his own experience: arriving in France at a very young age, discoveries that were sometimes disconcerting, difficulties in adapting, then a rise in competence thanks to hard work, curiosity and contact with other students from the farming world. Weekends spent on the farm enabled him to develop essential practical skills.

Abdel stressed the importance of forging links right from the start, particularly with the 4ᵉ and 5ᵉ year students who had also come from Cameroon, of getting involved in associations to encourage the exchange of ideas and ideas, and of developing a sense of belonging to the community.engage in associations to foster integration and develop human qualities, and to build a solid network that will be decisive for internships and future opportunities.

He also encouraged students to read regularly to deepen their knowledge and keep abreast of current affairs and to dare to ask questions, both in and out of class, as this is one of the most effective ways of progressing.

His message: build your identity, open up to others, and start thinking about your career plans now.
